ANSWER

These are the questions buyers ask NF Teguh most: how to send an enquiry, what a quotation needs, which valve families are stocked, how standards such as API 598 and EN 10204 appear on paperwork, and how delivery works within Malaysia. Every answer is short and practical. If yours is not covered, phone, email or WhatsApp the counter in Subang Jaya.

ENQUIRIES

Enquiries & quotations

RFI-01How do I send an enquiry?

Send your valve list by whichever channel you already use: phone +603 5888 9223, email sales@nf-teguh.com.my, or WhatsApp +6012 944 3980. A photographed page of a handwritten list is fine — what matters is that each line states size, pressure class, end connection, body and trim material, operator and quantity. One line or sixty, the counter reads it the same way and comes back with a quotation rather than a form to fill in.

RFI-02What does a complete enquiry state?

Six things per line item: size and pressure class; end connection (flanged, butt-weld, threaded); body and trim material; the service fluid with its pressure and temperature; the operator — lever, gear or actuated; and the test or certification you need with the goods. Those six lines are what the quotation is priced against, and a line that leaves one out usually comes back as a question before it comes back as a price. The full walk-through is on the how ordering works sheet.

RFI-03How does quotation and ordering work after that?

Three steps. The counter returns a quotation stating what is offered from stock and what is on indent. You confirm with a purchase order — naming on it any certificates or test reports you need. Collection or delivery is then arranged, and the paperwork you asked for travels with the goods. Nothing about the route requires a portal login or an account: the quotation and the purchase order are the whole transaction.

FAMILIES

Families & sourcing

RFI-04Which valve families does NF Teguh supply?

Six: gate, globe, ball, plug, butterfly and check. Each has its own sheet explaining how the pattern works and what its enquiry should state — start from the family index. If you are choosing between two patterns for one duty, the comparison sheets — gate vs globe and ball vs butterfly — give the one-line rule and the table behind it.

RFI-05Is NF Teguh a manufacturer?

No — NF Teguh is a supplier and stockist. Valves are sourced against your specification and quoted with the manufacturer's own ratings and paperwork. That is what a specialist stockist is for: one counter that can read a mixed valve list, price it as a whole, and stand between you and half a dozen factory lead times.

RFI-06Can NF Teguh quote actuated valves?

State the operator on the enquiry — lever, gear, or actuated — and the quotation follows it. For actuated lines, include the actuation type and any mounting standard your specification names (ISO 5211 is the common pad designation), plus the control signal if you have it. The more of the actuation picture the enquiry carries, the fewer round-trips before a firm price.

RFI-07Which pattern should I use for throttling duty?

Not a gate valve — left partly open, the wedge vibrates and the seats erode. A globe valve is the throttling pattern: its disc-over-seat geometry holds intermediate positions and regulates flow at the cost of higher pressure drop. For coarse control on large, low-pressure lines, an offset butterfly valve is often accepted. If the duty is regulation, say so on the enquiry rather than naming a pattern — the counter will quote what the duty actually needs. The trade-offs live in gate vs globe.

STANDARDS

Standards & paperwork

RFI-08What does “Petronas registered vendor” mean on this site?

It means NF (Nu-Flow) Teguh Sdn Bhd holds a current vendor registration with Petronas, as stated on this site — relevant if your procurement flows through the Petronas ecosystem, where a registered counterparty simplifies onboarding. It is the one credential this site claims. Anything else you need for vendor evaluation — company documents, registration particulars — ask the counter directly and it will come through the paperwork channel, not a webpage.

RFI-09How do standards like API 598 or EN 10204 appear on quotations?

As requirements you name and the quotation answers. If your purchase order requires API 598 testing, the valve is supplied against it with the test report; if it requires an EN 10204 type 3.1 certificate, that certificate travels with the goods. Standards figures on this site are published reference data with a standing caveat: the governing edition is always the one your purchase order names. What each document actually certifies is explained in the procurement documentation guide.

RFI-10Can I get material certificates with my order?

Yes — ask on the purchase order, not after delivery. Certificates are issued in the manufacturing chain, so a certificate requested up front is routine and a certificate reconstructed afterwards ranges from slow to impossible. State the type you need — EN 10204 type 3.1 is the common ask; 3.2 adds third-party validation — and the quotation will price and state it. The difference is explained in 3.1 vs 3.2, what procurement actually needs.

RFI-11How do I identify an installed valve I need to replace?

Start at the nameplate: a plate marked to MSS SP-25 carries the manufacturer, size, rating and material grades — usually enough for the counter to quote an equivalent. Photograph the plate and the valve, note the line size and service, and send both with the enquiry. Where the plate is missing or unreadable, the body markings and a few measurements can stand in. Field by field, the plate is decoded in reading a valve nameplate.

DELIVERY

Delivery & follow-up

RFI-12Where does NF Teguh deliver?

The counter serves plants and contractors across Malaysia from Subang Jaya, Selangor — inside the Klang Valley industrial belt. Delivery or collection is agreed on the quotation: state your site location on the enquiry and the quotation will state how the goods reach it. If you plan to collect, say so and the quotation will state when the item is ready.

RFI-13How fast can an item be supplied?

The honest answer is the quotation's answer: it states, line by line, what is offered from stock and what is on indent with the manufacturer. No blanket lead-time promise on a webpage would survive contact with a real valve list — sizes, classes and materials each carry their own availability. Send the list; the quotation is the commitment.

RFI-14Who do I speak to about a quotation I already have?

Reply on the same channel the quotation reached you — or phone +603 5888 9223 and quote its reference. The counter that priced your list is the counter that answers questions about it; there is no separate support desk to re-explain your enquiry to. Contact details, and what to have ready, are on the contact sheet.
